Autism Advocacy and Awareness Organizations

 

YAI Network ~ www.yai.org ~

Since 1957, the YAI Network has been providing hope and opportunity to people of all ages with developmental disabilities and their families. Their organization includes more than 450 programs and serves more than 20,000 people every day.

 

Los Ninos Services ~ www.losninos.com

Los Niños Services provides evaluations, services, and service coordination to young children (ages 0 – 3) and SEIT services to Preschool-aged children.

 

Resources for Children with Special Needs (RCSN) ~ www.resourcesnyc.org

RCSN is New York City’s only independent nonprofit organization that works for families and children with all special needs, across all boroughs, to understand, navigate, and access the services needed to ensure that all children have the opportunity to develop their full potential.

 

Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) ~ www.qsac.com  

QSAC is a nonprofit organization founded in 1978 by a group of parents confronting inappropriate and limited service options for their children with autism. For over three decades, QSAC has been guided by the principle that every child and adult with autism deserves the highest quality of treatment and care that enables them to live meaningful and fulfilled lives in our society. Today nearly 1,000 QSAC employees join together at 21 facilities in Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Nassau County to provide educational, residential, therapeutic and family support services.

AHRC New York City offers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a wide range of programs, services and supports tailored to meet their specific needs.

SCO Family of Services helps vulnerable New Yorkers build a strong foundation for the future. We get young children off to a good start, launch youth into adulthood, stabilize and strengthen families and unlock potential for children and adults with special needs. SCO has provided vital human services throughout New York City and Long Island for more than 100 years

 

Harlem- Dowling Center ~ www.harlemdowling.org

As a not-for-profit child-welfare agency, the mission of Harlem Dowling-West Side Center for Children and Family Services is to serve and assist children and their families in crisis and distress. Our services include foster care, adoption, preventive services and related assistance to children and their families to enable them to live in a stable and nurturing environment. The agency’s programs focus on serving children and their families living in the communities in which the agency operates.

Medicaid Waiver Service Coordination and Waiver Application

 

SKIP of New York ~SKIP of New York is the only 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit agency of its kind. It is based on the belief that every kid deserves a shot at the best childhood they can get, especially kids who are medically fragile and/or developmentally disabled. Through service coordination, advocacy and hands-on problem solving, more than 150 SKIP case managers make sure the 3,000 children they work with each year get that chance. Ohel Family Services ~ The mission of OHEL Children’s Home and Family Services, established in 1969,is to protect and strengthen individuals and families by meeting the diverse social service needs of the community through programs of excellence.
